This allowed for a thorough review and the addressing of any operational concerns. I want to acknowledge the field operators and management for displaying exceptional project safety practices and communication with our teams. Lund Construction has been providing the Dry Utility (Joint Trench) scope for Amoruso Ranch. The (JT) scope items include Excavate, Trench, Shade, backfill; Install Roseville Electric conduits, Vaults & Pads; PG&E Gas System Installation and AT&T Telephone Conduit System.

During a thorough site safety assessment, a vehicle operator and rigging crew displayed great working knowledge of CalOSHA regulations. Necessary vehicle inspection records were available upon request, the whole crew was wearing proper PPE, and good condition equipment was on hand. I have recently begun working with Shawn Love, Safety Specialist, and couldn’t ask for a better leader in safety for the Lund Construction team.

We worked with the team at Lund Construction Co. on the State Street Watermain Project in the City of West Sacramento. The project management team demonstrated prompt communication, methodical work sequence, and the ability to resolve unexpected field issues in a timely and professional manner. The field crews displayed excellent workmanship, and great public outreach during the construction project. Due to the tight working conditions in a residential neighborhood and on city streets, we needed a cohesive team with great communication, efficient field productivity and streamlined project schedule. Lund provided all of that for a great value and I would highly recommend them for future projects.
I was an inspector for SMUD’s Cable replacement department for a number of years and worked with several contractors in that time period. All of them did, what I might say, a reasonable job when it came to quality and production. After I was introduced to the Lund Construction crews and saw their work ethic and production it was apparent to me that this contractor knew exactly what they were doing. Their speed was two fold over any other contractor I have work with. This company can produce what SMUD needs to stay ahead of their failing underground system. I am writing this in response to your construction team who is replacing SMUD electrical conduits in the area 95823 near Consumnes River College, near Calvine Road.
I had the pleasure of observing a team so fine-tuned where only the highest of quality and quantity were exercised in a short period of time. I noticed, compared to other repair teams, where there were no wasted movement and operated as though they were performing like a fine tuned football team. And as amazing as it may be there work area gravel and dirt were organized and orderly. ” I am in ‘awe'”.

Safety, quality, and proper documentation for future reference are highly important on any jobsite. Additionally, operator OQs, trench layout, job site/trench safety, materials quality, and proper standards and procedures are critical to success. My experience with Lund has been that they have always met or exceeded all standards set forth on projects. This includes not only the above critical components, but fusions and fittings passing visual inspection, separation, depth of cover, proper backfill, measurements, and pipe data are correctly recorded in most circumstances with the first inspection.
Each time I have identified an area of concern where rework has been involved due to failed fusions, separation, depth, sand shade, poor equipment condition, or improper documentation, Lund has reviewed and approached the finding in a professional manner, completing the rework immediately. Their team has always taken suggestions with utmost importance and consistently aims to improve their team and work to meet or beat all standards. Most recently they are working on improving their as-built documentation process.
When I have been performing inspections on Lund jobs over the years I have seen their foreman and gas qualified operators perform in a safe, thorough and timely manner. Their team always strives to complete proper gas installation with minimal failures/findings and they have always had a high standard when it comes to quality and trench safety, as well as keeping their fleet, tools and equipment well maintained and calibrated.
Lund is a great company to work with. I have inspected many of their projects and each time I have walked away confident in the system that has been installed. Lund has been good at communicating schedule, as well as dealing with unforeseen challenges. I would recommend Lund and the services they provide for any future project.
I have had the experience working with Lund Construction on various contract jobs, some were new developments, and or old neighborhoods. Lund Construction always worked to insure all safety practices for both workers and the public. Working with Lund was very easy they had crews to do all types of work. The rock saw crew was very talented they could handle homeowners concerns, emergency traffic, and even garbage pickup. Rock saw trenches in existing roads can be very challenging, but it was always nice working with Lund because they could handle anything with the talents the crew had for fixing a failing road, or unmarked water, sewer, or drainage facilities. Steve Green always had contact with all agencies open for a smooth working relationship as you know communication is very important and that is one of Steve’s qualities. I hope this letter helps. I was an inspector for Sacramento County for 26 years and worked with Lund Construction for many years.
