The contract for Parkbridge began in spring of 2018 with plans for a 531-lot subdivision in multiple phases. Lund was awarded Phases 1 & 2, which were completed in late summer. Based on our team’s performance, we were awarded three more Phases: Village 3, Lot 1, and Lot K, to be completed by the end of 2019.
The project scope required our Joint Trench team to excavate and install dry utilities for SMUD electric, PG&E Gas, AT&T, and Comcast. Lund worked closely with multiple agencies and utility companies to ensure safe installation and successful project completion that met the contractual timeline and budget. From project start to sign-off we coordinated with all utility companies, providing as-built documentation and installation records for each lot in the development for all Phases. With the assistance of Pipeline Partners, Lund was able to keep its crew operators qualified in all tasks needed to meet the ever-evolving requirements of PG&E gas mains and services.
The relationships that Lund has built throughout the region over the past 60 years allowed us to increase crews and equipment at a moment’s notice when needed, while negotiating to keep prices steady. By focusing on production, longer work weeks, experienced techniques, and safe practices (despite the challenges of digging deep and wide crossings at an accurate depth that meet utility standards), the Lund crew met all milestones and fulfilled all contractual obligations on or ahead of schedule, ultimately allowing topside improvements to be completed before winter.
