Lund began this portion of the multi-phase project for the Esplanade at Turkey Creek Development in Feb 2020. This portion included the installation of 34,852 LF of underground joint trench / dry utilities, mainline trench crossing, and backbone. This includes electrical, AT&T, PG&E Gas Main, conduit & fittings, transformer pad, primary J boxes and pull boxes, streetlight trenching/ crossings, and a new Traffic Signal.
The owner had a tight schedule on this project, and there were potential materials delays due to availability and forcefully incurred material escalation. Through weekly coordination meetings and good communication with the owner, other trades and field superintendents, the schedule was carefully planned, and field issues were identified and resolved. Additionally, due to great business relationships and buying power with our suppliers, the Lund team was able to maximize our resources throughout CA to purchase materials upfront. This allowed us to keep prices competitive with the bid, get all needed material to complete our scope on time, and eliminate materials increases to the client.
Through our value engineering services the owner also saved money in the planning stage of the project. The Lund joint trench team assisted the owner’s engineering team in the design of the lighting system and power to all gated entries in the master community.
The project was completed under-budget and on-time in August, 2021.
