The SMUD Rocksaw project is a multi-year contract requiring Lund to self-perform various areas of work from start to finish including, installation of pull boxes, vaults and conduit for SMUD high voltage cable replacement program, backhoe excavation, rock saw street trenching, trench paving, sand sealing and concrete restoration. In 2016 alone, 20 men making up 2 experienced Lund crews worked to install over 300,000 circuit feet (60 miles) of conduit. Despite the challenges of working on busy streets and roads of Sacramento county, and working closely with all agencies and utility companies within county boundaries to insure safe installation and successful project completion, Lund’s steadfast commitment to production without sacrificing workmanship or safe practices has been instrumental in helping SMUD reach their annual cable replacement goals for the past 8 years.
